"In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust." - Psalm 4:8 (Amplified)

The Lord gives and the Lord takes...

Today I was struck with bad news... someone whom I knew passed on .. n it came out of the blue when I least expected it...

Was about to go school when 圣文 told me abt it... Gosh.. life is really unpredictable...

Betta treasure more of wad we have man...

我 虽 然 行 过 死 荫 的 幽 谷 , 也 不 怕 遭 害 。 因 为 你 与 我 同 在 。 你 的 杖 , 你 的 竿 , 都 安 慰 我 。 - 诗 篇 23:4

Home on the Range

I am now tryin to work on my Deviance project and as I do more research... and seeing the nick used by a fren on msn, I was reminded how wonderful those primary sch days were... so carefree... not much deadlines... haven really woke up to reality.... etc etc etc

Here's the FULL lyrics: (by the way this is the official song of the State of Kansas)

Original" text by
Dr. Brewster Higley (1876)

Oh, give me a home where the Buffalo roam
Where the Deer and the Antelope play;
Where never is heard a discouraging word,
And the sky is not clouded all day.

*A home! A home!
Where the Deer and the Antelope play,
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
And the sky is not clouded all day. *

Oh! give me a land where the bright diamond sand
Throws its light from the glittering streams,
Where glideth along the graceful white swan,
Like the maid in her heavenly dreams.

Oh! give me a gale of the Solomon vale,
Where the life streams with buoyancy flow;
On the banks of the Beaver, where seldom if ever,
Any poisonous herbage doth grow.

How often at night, when the heavens were bright,
With the light of the twinkling stars
Have I stood here amazed, and asked as I gazed,
If their glory exceed that of ours.

I love the wild flowers in this bright land of ours,
I love the wild curlew's shrill scream;
The bluffs and white rocks, and antelope flocks
That graze on the mountains so green.

The air is so pure and the breezes so fine,
The zephyrs so balmy and light,
That I would not exchange my home here to range
Forever in azures so bright.

William and Mary Goodwin (1904)
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam,
Where the deer and the antelope play;
There seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the sky is not cloudy all day.

*A home, a home
Where the deer and the antelope play,
There seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the sky is not cloudy all day.*

Yes, give me the gleam of the
swift mountain stream
And the place where no hurricane blows;
Oh, give me the park where the prairie dogs bark And the mountain all covered with snow.

Oh, give me the hills and the ring of the drills
And the rich silver ore in the ground;
Yes, give me the gulch where the miner can sluice
And the bright, yellow gold can be found.

Oh, give me the mine where the prospectors find
The gold in its own native land;
And the hot springs below where the sick people go
And camp on the banks of the Grande.

Oh, give me the steed and the gun that I need
To shoot game for my own cabin home;
Then give me the camp where the fire is the lamp
And the wild Rocky Mountains to roam.

Yes, give me the home where the prospectors roam
Their business is always alive
In these wild western hills
midst the ring of the drills
Oh, there let me live till I die.

John A. Lomax (1910)
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam,
Where the deer and the antelope play,
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day.

*Home, home on the range,
Where the deer and the antelope play;
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day.*

Where the air is so pure, the zephyrs so free,
The breezes so balmy and light,
That I would not exchange my home on the range
For all of the cities so bright.

The red man was pressed from this part of the West
He's likely no more to return,
To the banks of Red River where seldom if ever
Their flickering camp-fires burn.

How often at night when the heavens are bright
With the light from the glittering stars
Have I stood here amazed and asked as I gazed
If their glory exceeds that of ours.

Oh, I love these wild flowers
in this dear land of ours
The curlew I love to hear scream,
And I love the white rocks and the antelope flocks
That graze on the mountain-tops green.

Oh, give me a land where the bright diamond sand
Flows leisurely down the stream;
Where the graceful white swan goes gliding along
Like a maid in a heavenly dream.

War!

Let's see... wad time issit now? 2:02 am... and where am I? Sports Recreation Center (SRC) NUS... juz got back frm makan with LH n frens at Fong Seng...

Had a major quarrel with my mum... the biggest quake since 1994 (7 out of a scale of 10)... obviously there r miscommunications I guess... but I am too pissed to go home and so I came back school to work on my essays or do some econs stuff...

Nah... this wun last... I probably be going back latr in the morning after they leave for work...

Man.. I hate this kinda thing... juz by listening to the arguments n premises she laid out really made me so tired... and even as I typed this... I feel so drained...

And oh... saw Matt at the swimming complex (juz ended training I guess) and it was almost midnite... crazy pple... hahaha...oh well.. passion..

Going back a little... so LH and I were waitin for a fren at YIH bus stop and a biblical verse popped into my head.. cant remember where it came from but it goes...

"...a soft answer turns away wrath..."

Perhaps so... almost immediately after tat, my Dad called...and he's typically those quiet pple as in he does not usually talk much... But he called n said "Any issues... plsz address them and tok to me abt it... I'll talk to yr mum... I know u dun feel like coming back tonite... go sort out yr thoughts and come back tomorrow morning... dun stay up too late..."

Then I softened a little somewat... a soft answer turns away wrath ... or even bitterness I tink...
Now I feel charged up... ok... I m going to do some Econometrics or readings (not likely...kinda boring).. yea..Math...

Till then..
