A Last Blog on FOP

This is the last time I am goin to blog about FOP... sch started! So it is time to move on!

June 2005 began to shaped how I wld start my new academic year and indeed, Arts Camp was the chisel that carved what is today!

I'd went for 2 other camps before Arts Camp - Sea Sports Camp and Reservist Camp but none of them had as great as an impact as Arts Camp '05!

When Hock first approached me to be house i/c, half of me was like "Me? Sure or not?" and the other half of me was elated! To lead a house is something that I wanted to do and to do that, I've to get beyond myself!

Nonsensical, I might have been but to take up such a role was quite unimaginable! As WeiXin had said in a note to me at the end of O-week: OMG! U were not like that last year!

Can u imagine the drastic measure I took to carry out my portfolio description?

It had been a tiring holidays... it aint really any sort of holidays to begin with... I was so busy with camps and stuff... and organising bbqs and chalets...

But at the end of the day, as I sat in my room at Ridge View reading those little notes my councillars and freshies wrote for me, I felt that it had all been worth it:

"U made boring times bearable"

"Sylvia + Bobby = Best House I/Cs"

"I can tell you that 'lim peh' has never had such fun in an orientation before. Thanks"

"Like this box, you have opened us up to life in NUS Arts"

"Because of you, O-week is 'high'"

In fact, a freshie from another house told me this:
"When I first saw Sylvia and you, I told myself, 'T' house is the house to be in!" =)

SO flattering! But above all! The best thing ever said was this : TAU POK ROCKZ!

This is a reflection of how the guys have bonded as one entity: Tau Pok! And that is way above any other form of praises and flattery! To see my hse bonding is like WOW!

These past mths, I've been neglecting my dearest frenz who went thru arts camp with me juz 1 yr ago as freshies a lot! So I resolve to spend more time with Joy, Jonathan, Xin and Caleb... WOW! It's been a year and I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for always giving me the support I needed even though there were difficult times ( u know...)

And BASH: Needless to say, it is prolly the best bash I've been to since a freshman!

Thanks Mary and Diana! U guys were great bosses to work with... and of cuz I'd the help of my dearest log team - Beng, Swi, Kumar, Hock, Xuzi and Rayner!

Once again! Thnxs all and we muz do projects together again!

Trottus/Tau Pok

I juz got to blog this..

I reall am super proud of Trottus and Tau Pok... Everytime I look back into my memories, I always smile with pride...

And thanks Tau Pok for the appreciation u have shown with the little notes that u have written for me... really appreciate tat a lot...

Sch Starts

Gosh, been a while since I posted an explanatory post...

This is like a repeat escapade of last year when I dropped Japanese Language... The Sem One curse I gather...

So I dropped American Law which I m supposed to take with a good fren of mine...

The difference between this and Jap which I dropped last yr is that, this time round, I found out more about the course, went to read up on it etc. Hence I tot it was truly interesting but nonetheless I felt I was not up to it when I'd the first tutorial... tat's the main reason I m dropping it...

And I definitely did not tell pple tat it was my fren who persuaded me to take this module but by virtue of this statement:

"And I heard that other people think it is because I was the one who wanted him to take the module, so it isn’t his fault. Great. I wonder who lied."

It shows the amt of trust the person has in me to even have the slightest doubt abt me doin such a thing...

I realised thru so many things that I can have good frenz but not always spending time with me... tat's a flaw I have...


On another note: Please pray for me.. I m like taking 4 bloody econs modules of which 3 of them r lvl 3000 .. so dead! sianz!

Bash is Tuesday! 16th August... who ever reads this muz go n support.. ( i m in the organising committee) Club MoMo - R&B all nite with $5 per shot of hsepours INCLUDING TQ from 8pm to 1 am...

and tat ends project six...

It has been an experience and I m still living in tat exp.

Gimme a while... lemme enjoy it while I can...

Then I got to transform back to study mode...

End of FOP

Been a million years since I last blogged! This is going to be yet another long blog...

O-week ended with a BANG! Finale nite was awesome...

As I look thru the happenings of o-week, I begin to see interesting things...

Houses

As in Arts Camp, there are 4 houses , A, R , T and S but this time round, Xuzi the project director left it to the discretion of the house i/c (like myself) to decide the hse name, so Sylvia and me chop chop decided on Tau Pok and hence, started the food names for houses: Achar, Rojak, Tau Pok and Satay!

TP was initially relatively weak. In fact, I wld tink it was the weakest of all 4 houses on the first day having an entire OG disappeared!

However, a couple of hours ago at Rag showed me otherwise. Tau Pok may not be the best hse in games and probably, not quite keen in doin stuff for ribbons, they nonetheless are bonded and onz! I remember one of my freshies told me "Bob... dun worry! Even though we dun cheer as loud but we r ONZ one!"

Not much complaints 'coz any form of unhappiness have been cleared and the good things that occured outshone the bad.

Of cuz, I muz give credits to my OGLs and AOGLs who have faithfully assisted me along the way and not to forget my councillars as well, freshies and seniors!

So the 4 OGs in my hse:

1. Tau Sa:

OGL was KarKeng; when I first saw him, I tot he looked damn attitude but he turned out to be a fine leader who bonded the entire grp very well together!

AOGLs Jennifer and Ernest who despite rag dances still come and give their support cheering and leading the houses whenever Syl or I needed help or when we aint around!


2. Tau Mei:

This is a grp where I was supposed to be a councillar in! Joy, xin, yumin and caleb were freshmen together with me just slightly over a year ago... time flies...

OGL was Caleb; wonderful leader who gets things done and rara=ing the spirit of the OG up!

AOGLs: Yenhong and Petrina - despite that they r small built, they r really a whole lot of interesting fellas whose spirit and attitude NVR fails to amuse and impress me!


3. Tau Huay

OGL was Sity Nuredha (aka Fatimah); one hell of a OGL! Look at the way she bonded the grp and how close the grp is to her reveals her capability and leadership...

AOGLs were Brandon and Reuben: Excellent pple... so involved in rag as dancer and tech yet so involved in TP! Salutes!


4. Tau Ni

The OG that disappeared on the first time and dealt Syl and me such a heavy blow on our morale...

OGL: KoKo was DOWN with a trottus (tat silly girl injured her leg)

AOGLs: Benedict and Edwin, having to help me hound fresh freshies who were not coming back and stuff.. lotsa admin done!

A special mention of Edwin who in spite of juz being a freshie councillar and AOGL took on the role and job of KoKo the actual OGL and tat is truly impressive in all sense!

All my AOGLs r juz freshies and they dun have to do it but they do it b'coz they had fun and the love arts!

SO very proud of u guys... every single one!

And I made quite a steady fren... none other than Joshua...

This is the first time since like 23rd July I've been separated from him for more than 24 hours... hahhaha... goodness...

and I only knew him for like 3 weeks to a mth...

But he's one-of-a-kind also la... but sure is a awesome fren to have..

Tdy is btw his Birthday! So Happy Birthday Josh!
