Had dinner with Sining and Kartika at Thai Express and we touched on the issue of God.. This being in the midst of my exams.. haven end yet..
So why do I believe in God? Frankly speaking, I started out in Church due to rational reasons and when I weighed it against the benefits and costs (or wad the econs students will call: Present Value of Benefits/COsts - PVB/PVC), it is a better deal to go church.
So what do you get for not going church?
1. Get to sleep in late on Sunday
2. Get to spend time with family and friends
3. Get to keep the 10% of thithe or you can spend it elsewhere
4. Do whatever, since there is no form of legitimate monotheist God in control
5. Have fun poking fun at other committed Christians
That's about it?
So what do I get for going church?
1. Get to make new friends
2. Learn to better manage my time and finances
3. Feel empowered every weekend
4. Taught the importance of having a spirit of excellence
5. Having to keep tinking why I should believe God exist with rationality stimulates thinking because if you keep brushing aside the notion that God exists with "Argh, dun tok rubbish" and things like tat, u aint really tinking... r u?
6. Leadership
7. Community Work
8. Social networking and support
These are just some ... and these are basically built on the premises that you go church and God does not exist. And so if God exist, u hit the Jackpot!
So rationally, it makes sense to go church!
WALA!
