Thursday, I have been in the library since 9am in the morning, kept my seat very warm...

Did a lot of econometrics and only an evening of emotions when my next paper is emotions.. then again.. i dun really know how to study for emotions.. or maybe it is too general, everything seems to be overlapping..

After clearning tml, I got to clear econometrics on saturday, the famous killer module.. sighz.. all coming together.. and Public Finance on Monday and I know little about coz frankly other thanmy 2 assignments, I never touched much of this module...

sighz.. then good thing is about 4 days to HOLS!!! YAY!!

Got 3 more left... have something like a week break between 2nd and 3rd paper...

Sociology of Emotions: Emotions and the Social Life on Friday... This is one worrying and not so worrying paper in the sense tat it's quite common sensical and general but on the other hand, I need to keep bearing in mind the theories behind it all and put them into perspective...

Sociology of Deviance, a module I took a sem ago: I vaguely remember one of the theories I learnt or perhaps a perspective, a labelling perspective. I have been once more, labelled as a deviant out to distract another from academic performance.. next, I have been indirecly pointed to be the source of misery for another and tat this misery will yet once more take on academic sacrifices...

Misunderstandings perhaps, but tat arises from distrust or minimal trust...

By the way, I tink Miss Granger is like really not bad looking ehz. Harry and Ron's r/s in the show was greatly strained by misunderstandings... how sad..

And oh, I tink tat Harry Potter 4 is ehz kinda sad but oh well, plenty of room for continuation of the story..

Oh, there's another 2 new character in the movie.. Cedric Diggory who by the way looks much better in the show or at least that's what I tink...


Viktor Krum, the guy who well, supposed to be all 'cool' and 'hot' in the show..

Seriously, I am tempted to talk a lot more abt the show but I cant since most of my frenz hadn't really caught the show... hahaha







First paper tml, how sick but the good news is that hols gonna be here in less than 2 weeks time! yay!

'Off' Late

Yesterdae marked the celebration of Mary's birthday.. somewhat belated I muz say but nonetheless HAPPY BIRTHDAY (belated) Mary Bangaleck!

It was initially supposed to be like juz the few of us and then BAM! There was like ten of us thereabt? I almost did not go for the thing b'coz I was greatly enlightened that I was to be the only guy there... grr.. but for the sake of BANGBANG I went... nonetheless..

Anyhow we got to (alright juz some of us) the point of a ever standing issue.. Nobody really knows about it.. yeapz! I have been accepted for exchange program.. a highly guarded secret of mine.. hmm secret? maybe not tat serious... but this has loads of implications and I began to tink of and reflect on various decisions I've made thruout this sem...

The next qn ppl may ask is... when's yr exchange? Oh well.. next sem? The admin is now processing everything and the only thing now lacking is the confirmation of accom. over there.. maybe loose ends to tie up and tat's it..

I'm off...

Ace-ing and Aching

I saw Joy and her hair yesterday at the central library and after giving her a jab, she started telling me all about her SS conquest not only getting an A for her much-effort-put-in paper but also topped a class thus earning herself a real COOL soci book that looks like this.


So anyway I am real glad for her .. her hard work paid off...

So, as I tot abt it, I realised that when my frenz Aced their work/modules, I feel this sense of excitement and JOY .. u know feeling happy for them and stuff but there are some who I know who tend to get a little unhappy when their frenz surpassed them in various academic aspects.. how narrow their hearts are..

Anyway, I had a traumatic time at the dental (Kenneth) apprentice... All the metal and clamps in my mouth.. heard he said something abt isolating a certain tooth to work on and soon after I had to undergo wad u call PAIN!

Luckily I was given a shot of LA to numb the area.. and he wanted to work on the other tooth too and deep within me, I was like OMG! Thank God his instructor said "We should not subject a patient to 2 LAs per visit.."

I was let off the hook! If not for the fact tat he's a good fren, church mate and secondary fren, will I be goin to the dentist? NO!

Gosh.. some more no MCs... haha!

Dinner Discussion

I had dinner juz recently with some friends...

As I processed the things talked about, I was brought into rememberance about various things and as I did my prayers that very same night, the Lord brought into my rememberance a bible story:

"When he[the master] began the accounting, one was brought to him who owed him 10,000 talents [probably about $10,000,000], and because he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and his children and everything that he possessed, and payment to be made.

So the attendant fell on his knees, begging him, Have patience with me and I will pay you everything. And his master's heart was moved with compassion, and he released him and forgave him [cancelling] the debt.

But that same attendant, as he went out, found one of his fellow attendants who owed him a hundred denarii [about twenty dollars]; and he caught him by the throat and said, Pay what you owe!

So his fellow attendant fell down and begged him earnestly, Give me time, and I will pay you all ! But he was unwilling, and he went out and had him put in prison till he should pay the debt.

When his fellow attendants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and they went and told everything that had taken place to their master.

Then his master called him and said to him, You contemptible and wicked attendant! I forgave and cancelled all that [great] debt of yours because you begged me to. And should you not have had pity and mercy on your fellow attendant, as I had pity and mercy on you?

I was mugging in the library tdy and gosh, this is the first true blue muggin for this semester...

I've been slacking all these while and as I mugged, I suddenly felt this adrenaline rush in me and this feeling is something I've not felt for a long time, at least not this sem!

Kewl, I began to find the joy in mugging once more and as I went thru my macroeconomics textbook, I actually could read chapters after chapters w/o skipping sections so as to put my understanding of the topic into perceptions...

Gosh! Mugging can be fun too? Wad a revelation!

Mugging aside, here's a story dedicated to Joy, perhaps she heard it somewhere since it's quite a famous story but nonetheless, here goes:

(the 'I' in the story refers to the author not me!)
Years ago, I worked as a volunteer at Stanford Hospital and got to know a little girl called Liza who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5 yr old brother who had developed some kind of resistance to the disease. The doctor explained the situation to the boy and asked him if he is willing to give his blood to his sister. He briefly hesistated a while before taking a deep breath and said "Yes, I'll do it if it will save Liza."

As the transfusion progressed, he lay in a bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the colour returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?"

Being young, the boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was goin to give her all his blood...

A Date with Zhiwen

Had dinner with Zhiwen on Thurs in conjunction with Hari Raya... good catching up and suddenly I realised thru her.. how everyone knows everyone else...

I desperately wanted to get a haircut but tat Zhiwen REFUSED to let me get it done.. anyhow, I had a new book "The Time Traveller's Wife", heard good comments about it but the impending exams are stoppin me from reading it... grrr... and a shirt from P.O.A, bakerzin's desserts.. gosh..

Juz had close comm meeting yesterday? Does it mean, all things come to a halt?

D.O.T.A

DOTA, a game more commonly known as Defence of the Ancients but to me it is more like ..

Destruction of the ASSES!...

It is the very tool that cause people (in particular guys) to hallucinate...

Lemme list the ramifications of DOTA-ing... (hmm.. maybe those too addicted to it)

1. You abandon your significant other!

2. You cause your frens to abandon their significant others when u 'jio' them to play with those little 'kia (the hokkien for let's go), Dota!' --> seemingy frenly words but aha... the destructive nature that lies within those few words...

3. You distract people from academic studies... to elaborate more.. for instance a couple of hours ago (Thursday) which was like gosh, about TWO WEEKS from exams and pple still dota... perhaps it aint tat crucial for graduating pple but pple who are FRESHIES and pple holding CRUCIAL positions nid to be aware that they are BEING WATCHED! GOSH! Disgusting examples... unless u r certain u r going to be in Dean's list , I dun see any reason for you to be away from your books and even if u r not revising, reading something light or staying home to spend QUALITY time with your family is definitely a ziliion times better than DOTA-ing.. PUI!

So wad r u goin to tell me? "Oh, I desperately need to fellowship with the screen!"??? or maybe... "I finished mugging liaoz..." or perhaops "I finished my essays... juz gimme a break.." I'm sorry, essays ought to be done in comfortable timing not all cramped and if u have finished mugging, I expect straight As? Nothing short of tat.. not even A-?

4. It gives you no tangible benefits now or in the future! U mean wad? U gonna go for interviews with a dota certificate? Woo hoo, I won some DOTA competition? GOSH! Wake up!
